Miss Pavlova
When Ana Maia became unemployed, she decided to change her life and literally put her hands to work. In 2013, she created a Facebook page and started selling the pavlovas she made, which were already a hit among friends and family.
The pavlova is a cake-shaped dessert that is crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with a meringue base. In Porto, Miss Pavlova is the reference when it comes to this sweet.
Inside the Almada 13 concept store, in Rua do Almada, every day there are different flavors to explore. In a small corner of the store, the pastry store decorated with good taste and simplicity welcomes the most gluttonous with options for all preferences.
The Black Forest – served on top of a chocolate brownie! - is one of the most iconic, but there are more proposals to choose from, including lime, caramel, oreo, maltesers, soft eggs, and hazelnut. And besides the pavlova slices, there are also macaroons, tartlets, yogurts, toasts, and much more. To explore the menu, we decided to try the Eggs Florentine which proved to be divine, and the Bruschetta Caprese which is second to none. To drink, we suggest the homemade lemonade or the cold tea of the day. But if the day is cooler, the Lattes and espresso drinks are also a good option.
If you don't know this dessert or if you already know it and are looking for the right place to buy it, Miss Pavlova is the place to visit. In fact, why not order a pavlova for that family lunch? It will certainly be a success!
Cool Tip: Miss Pavlova also has Mr. Brunch, a brunch that, in addition to cold and hot dishes, yogurts, eggs, and pancakes, includes, of course, the best of fine pastries and Ana's wonderful pavlovas.
