Mr. Bean’s
The venue, with two floors, combines two distinct concepts: during the day, Chef Tapioca delights those who pass by with tapioca, açaí, and delicious natural juices; and, at the end of the day, the vegetarian restaurant Mr. Bean’s opens its doors and unites two passions: good food and good music! Close to the Serralves Foundation, far away from the hustle and bustle of the traditional touristic circuit (with a convenient area to park at night!), this cool and unpretentious place has everything to bring about cheerful moments and memories.
The art influences are very noticeable, it’s impossible not to be aware of the decoration, the infinite musical references, and the irreverent elements. And, since we talk about the decoration, we cannot fail to mention the personality which spreads out to the environment. The venue came to life by the hands of two friends who gave it a huge personal stamp, filled with historical pieces and charisma.
The open space concept at Chef Tapioca and Mr. Bean’s is extremely inviting and welcoming and guarantees a memorable experience.
During our visit, we enjoyed an Egg Tapioca and continued on a flavourful journey through the available dishes in the restaurant’s menu (also, fully vegetarian), prepared with dedication and an outstanding harmonization with the good music to create the coolest moments! As a starter, we tried the Colourful Humus (with beets and saffron) and we continued with a wonderful Vegetable Curry. By the end, we had found room (in our heart and belly) for the incredible bruschettas! To finish with a flourish, we must select a sweet suggestion in the menu… The Apple Crumble! Chef Tapioca’s wine selection is outstanding - after all, this is a wine bar! - but there is also a place for less “adventurous” options, so we recommend that you taste the guava and banana juice.
Here, we know that the little we can choose is prepared with quality, dedication, and a good dose of passion - and the truth is that these “ingredients” are priceless.
The experience that it’s lived at Chef Tapioca and Mr. Bean’s is unmissable… Whether to have a drink or a snack between conversations, for a lovely dinner or to relish a musical moment, it is worth a visit.
Cool Tip: The place regularly has music, events, and workshops. Keep up, and don’t miss the opportunity to appreciate these beautiful moments. Ah! Sunday is Jam Session Day - and everyone can play!
